To remain constant while following the God’s calling
On July 26, 2025 seminarian Emmanuel Muradyan received the minor orders and the order of Subdeacon during the Holy Mass in the Cathedral of Holy Martyrs in Gyumri. At first, the ceremony of assignment of minor orders was carried out, which include psalmist, acolyte, porter, reader, exorcist and candle-bearer. The minor orders are followed by the order of Subdeacon. These are introductory degrees, preparing for the priest’s service.
His Excellency said in His sermon:
“Today it’s a great pleasure to enjoy the God’s grace, given to the Muradyan family, from whom the Lord called Emmanuel for the priest’s service. In fact, this vocation has a history of years: it began from the trembling hands and timid steps going towards the Tabernacle as a Liturgy ministrant. This is nothing else but the God’s intercession to subtleties of our lives. The God’s spirit will guide our brother Emmanuel’s steps and make him go far away to search for wisdom, knowledge in order to start the seminarian study of theology and ecclesiology. He has finished his studies with good results and has received the order of Subdeacon, which gives him the right of ministering in the church. But this is not the end of his service. Following the God’s calling, he dreams of putting on the Liturgy vestments and serving each believer, who is thirsty of God’s consolation and the grace of Holy Spirit. It is not excluded that in a while we will meet here for his ordination and giving start to his priestly service”.
His Excellency warned brother Emmanuel that the devil will now try more and more to divert him from his good intentions to start priestly service and will try to fail them: “Be alert and follow your vocation. Do not give anyone an occasion to say what you have refused from, when you have chosen the priestly service. You must be able to live your vocation so that no one can ask you this question”.
Emmanuel Muradyan is a sixth-year student of Higher Metropolitan Seminary of Warsaw, from which he will graduate next year.
