“Whoever eats of my Body and drinks of my Blood, has everlasting life”, Jhn. 6
24-26 October were annual days of retreat for the Legion of Mary of Armenia, with a general theme of “Holy Eucharist and Mary as the Divine Ark”, held in the parish center of Ghazanchi, Armenia. Legionaries from the parishes of Mets Sepasar, Ghazanchi, Yerevan and Spitak took part in the retreat, which was totally focused on the pivotal importance of the Holy Eucharist and the inseparable bond between the Holy Eucharist and Virgin Mary.
The whole process of the retreat was fully occupied with the spiritually superabundant, extremely beautiful prayers of adoration of Holy Eucharist and the Rosary, with silent prayerful moments and discourses, delivered by Fr. Hovsep Galstyan, Fr. Michael Dombouryan and Br. Armen Adamyan, related on the following topics:
– Holy Eucharist is the pivot of the Christian life;
– Holy Eucharist and the Mother of God;
– Receive Holy Eucharist at the hands of Mary;
– My mission as a Christian and a legionary.
Silent moments of contemplation and overall discussions succeeded the discourses. The speakers had made references on the Sacred Scripture, Catechism of the Catholic Church, Church Fathers and the Handbook of the Legion of Mary. The aim of the Legion is to gather the people of God around the Holy Eucharist and the altar of the Holy Sacrifice through its service to the Virgin Mary, to guide people towards the Sacred Mystery and to sanctification, to the likeness of Christ, with the assistance and leadership of Mary.
The retreat days also allowed for a tender interaction between the legionaries.
It is also to noted, that the Handbook of the Legion of Mary will soon be published in Armenian language (as a pilot project), under the patronage of H.E. Kevork Archbishop Noradounguian.
