    Parish Priest of the Armenian Catholic Church of St. Grigor Narekatsi in Yerevan

    Born on September 1, 1977 in Panik village of Shirak region. Received secondary education in the local school. Since 1990, when the village already had its parish priest, Rev. Fr. Komitas Manoukyan, he took part in the church choir, then in St. Liturgies. Got baptized by Rev. Fr. Komitas Manoukyan on June 15, 1993 in the church of the Holy Mother of God in Panik.

     

    Since July 1, 1993 through mediation of the parish priest of Panik and spiritual mentor Rev. Fr. Komitas Manoukyan, moved to the monastery of Mekhitarist Congregation in Venice and studied at Mourad Rafayelyan College for 4 years. After graduation, on October 5, 1997, a month after Rev. Fr. Komitas Manoukyan’s death, he started studies in minor seminary of the monastery taking the name Komitas in memory of Fr. Komitas, as a proof of deep gratitude to Fr. Komitas, who had played an exceptional role in his life.

     

    In 1998 for receiving higher spiritual education, moved to Padua, where studied philosophy, theology and patrology in the Bishop Seminary.

     

    In 2000 moved to Rome and studied psychology in Pontifical Salesian University.

     

    In 2001 with the permission and assistance of Fr. Nerses Ter-Nersesyan, studied as a diocesan student at REGINA APOSTOLORUM, Roman University of the Congregation of Legionaries of Christ, received Bachelor’s Degree in philosophy.

     

    In 2002 studied Eastern theology at Pontifical Oriental Institute of Rome, at the same time collaborating with the Armenian Information Department of Vatican Radio.

     

    In 2003 continued theological studies at ANGELICUM, Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas in Rome.

     

    In 2004 returned to Armenia and continued studies at the theological faculty of Yerevan State University, for deeper study of the doctrine of Armenian Apostolic Church.

     

    In 2006 received Bachelor’s Degree in theology, in 2008 received Master’s Degree.

     

    In 2006-2016, simultaneously with the studies worked as a tour guide.

     

    On May 1, 2016 was ordained as deacon.

     

    On October 8, 2016 was ordained as priest by H.E. Raphael Archbishop Minassian, in the Armenian Catholic Church of Holy Martyrs in Gyumri. After the ordination was appointed as parish priest of the Armenian Catholic community of St. Grigor Narekatsi in Yerevan, and as spiritual father of the Seminary of Holy Archangels.

     

    Since September 2023 up to now has been the parish priest of the Armenian Catholic Church of St. Grigor Narekatsi in Yerevan.

     

    Married, has a son.
