  • Summer camp for the children of Metsavan

Continuing the tradition of the past 15 years

On August 6 and 7, 2026, a summer camp for children was held in the courtyard of the St. Hovhannes Armenian Catholic Church in Metsavan, with around 130 children of various age groups taking part.

The camp was organized under the auspices of the Armenian Catholic Church, with the active participation of the youth wing of St. Hovhannes Church in Metsavan and, of course, with the direct and inspiring presence of our beloved children.

These two days became a true celebration for the children—filled with games, songs, dances, friendship, new acquaintances, and unforgettable memories. The courtyard of our centuries-old holy monastery was once again filled with children’s sincere laughter, joy, and life. An integral and important part of the camp was spiritual education. Lessons in Christian doctrine were conducted by the local spiritual pastor, Most Rev. Fr. Nerses Galstyan. I must confess that I was delighted by the children’s sincere expression of faith, their curiosity, and their open-hearted approach to spiritual topics.

I am pleased to note that similar summer camps have been organized in our communities every year for the past 15 years, during which more than 400 children have had the opportunity to participate, rejoice together, learn, and experience beautiful and meaningful days. Thank God, this wonderful tradition continues today as well.

It is particularly touching to see how children who participated in the camp years ago, and who are now adults, fondly and affectionately recall those bright summer days of their childhood. This is the best testament that such initiatives leave a deep mark on children’s hearts.

We express our gratitude to all the organizers, youth, volunteers, parents, and especially our beloved children, who filled our church courtyard with their smiles.

With God’s blessing, we continue our mission. Next stop: the children’s day camp in Norashen. We look forward with love to new meetings, new smiles, and new blessed memories.
