The slogan and logo with appropriate description of Holy Father Pope Francis\u2019 visit to the Republic of Armenia on June 24 are approved. The slogan is “Visit to the first Christian nation.”<\/p>\n

Logo is circular. The basis of logo is the image of Biblical Mount Ararat and Khor Virap monastery. St. Gregory the Illuminator was imprisoned for nearly 14 years in the Virap of Artashat on which later the monastery was built. Then St. Gregory became the first Pontiff of Armenian nation and together with the efforts of King Trdat III declared Christianity the state religion.<\/p>\n

The colors of logo are violet and yellow, which reflect the official colors of the Armenian Apostolic Church and the Roman Catholic Church. The logo includes coat of arms of two churches.<\/p>\n
